At carbon-connect, we support companies and individuals in calculating their CO2 emissions in a transparent and comprehensible manner – without ideology, but with entrepreneurial thinking. Since 2013.
Our aim is to facilitate sustainable decision-making and the practical implementation of ESG and compliance requirements. Trust is at the heart of everything we do, and we build it through quality, clarity and personal support.
Our goal is to support companies in making economically sound decisions – embedded in a credible, strategically aligned ESG agenda.
As a transitional solution towards a low-carbon economy, we start where change can be achieved quickly: calculating, reducing and, where necessary, offsetting carbon emissions. We focus on personal communication – by telephone, straightforward and on equal terms. This results in solutions that fit in with our customers' everyday lives and work in practice.
Thanks to a strong network of partners, we develop comprehensive and long-term climate strategies based on transparency, trust and impact. Our focus is always on the real challenges our clients are facing: avoiding reputational risks, providing guidance and professionally integrating sustainability – from the perspective of entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs.
We are ISO 9001 certified, our annual financial statements are audited by Bingisser Treuhand AG, and all climate protection contributions from our customers are digitally documented after careful review – using blockchain tokens, transparently and tamper-proof.

Andreas Koch, Pascal Freudenreich and Christoph Lanter
Andreas Koch is a business economist and was the managing director of the Thurgau Competence Centre for Renewable Energy Systems (KEEST) until 2025. Under his leadership, KEEST developed into a nationally recognised point of contact for SMEs on issues relating to energy efficiency and renewable energies. Over 250 companies have already benefited from his expertise.
Koch has also led the office of the Thurgau Geothermal Energy Association (VGTG) since 2011. His many years of experience in management positions in the abrasives, plastics and printing industries make him a competent contact for companies looking to reduce their energy costs economically and sustainably.
Christoph Lanter is an entrepreneur, presenter and experienced sparring partner for strategy, communication and sales. As a passionate networker, he has an excellent business network in eastern Switzerland and sits on the board of directors or advisory board of various companies.
How does climate change influence economic activity? What costs can be expected, and what responsibility does the economy have in dealing with climate change appropriately? Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing us and future generations.
Every investment in renewable energies contributes to a secure energy supply, reduces CO2 emissions and decreases dependence on fossil fuels from abroad. It also improves the environment in the long term and secures jobs. Climate protection is primarily about avoiding emissions in our own country – but we can make an additional contribution to climate protection by voluntarily offsetting greenhouse gases through projects abroad.
Despite climate agreements, global CO2 emissions have continued to rise steadily since the mid-1950s. If the man-made rise in temperature caused by the greenhouse effect is not limited, this could have fatal consequences. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's special report on global warming of 1.5 degrees Celsius, published in 2018, warns that a rise in temperature could trigger an uncontrollable chain reaction that would further accelerate the greenhouse effect. Tipping points are critical processes in the climate system that are set in motion when temperatures rise. These are (amongst others):
In order to achieve the 1.5 degree target, anthropogenic (human-made) CO2 emissions must be significantly reduced before 2030 and reach net zero emissions by around 2050. Achieving this goal in such a short time will require, among other reduction measures, a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
