We are aware of the importance of the personal data entrusted to us, and carbon-connect AG keeps this data confidential and does not pass it on to third parties. You have the right to access the data we have stored about you at any time. The following explains the precautions we take to protect your privacy.

Our privacy policy only applies to our websites carbon-connect.ch. Links to websites of other providers are excluded from our privacy policy. carbon-connect AG is not liable for links to third-party websites; liability lies solely with the respective operators of these websites. carbon-connect AG endeavours to protect personal data from accidental and unlawful destruction and loss in accordance with the state of the art. In addition, care is taken to ensure that the data is used properly and that it is not accessible to unauthorised persons.

Why does carbon-connect AG collect personal data?

We collect, process and use personal data on our websites in order to respond to your enquiries, offer you better products and services, and provide you with efficient access to product information.

Cookies

Due to the importance of data protection, below you will find information about cookies, how we use them on our website and what options you have if you wish to deactivate them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files. They are usually downloaded to your computer or mobile device by the websites you visit. This allows the website to recognise your device when you click through the site (even if you return at a later date) to make it easier for you to use the site and to personalise it.

The following terms may help you understand and control cookies:

Cookies that are installed on your device by the organisation operating the website are called "first-party cookies". Cookies that are installed on your device via the website you are visiting are called "third-party cookies". This is, for example, a cookie that has been installed by a company for website analysis in order to provide the website operator with information about the number of visitors to its website. So-called "permanent cookies" remain on your device even when you close your internet browser. They are activated every time you visit the website that created the cookie. For example, if a website uses a "permanent cookie" to remember your login details, you do not have to enter them every time you visit the website. "Session cookies", on the other hand, are not stored permanently and are normally used to operate a website, e.g. by allowing a user to move from one page to the next without having to log in again. As soon as you close your browser, all session cookies are deleted from your computer. "Flash cookies" are installed by websites that contain media (e.g. video clips).

carbon-connect AG uses the following cookies:

Basic functions of our website

Cookies that are technically necessary for the functioning of our website or that offer a service or option requested by you; e.g. a cookie that "remembers" your personal settings such as your selected language or similar.

Website performance analysis

Cookies are used for this purpose, providing us with overall statistics on the number of visitors, which areas of a page are viewed most frequently, information about the city or location of users, the length of their visit, etc. We use Google Analytics for this purpose. The Google Analytics privacy policy can be found here.

When you visit some of our pages, targeting service providers store temporary cookies on your PC's hard drive or in your mobile device, which are automatically deleted after a specified period of time (up to 5 years).

Social Media Cookies

In order for you to share content from our website via social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., a cookie must be installed on your device. For more information, please refer to the guidelines of the respective companies.

How can you control cookies?

As described above, cookies enable you to take full advantage of the functionality of our website. If you disable cookies, certain features may not be available to you as expected.

If you do not want cookies, you can set your web browser to disable cookies in addition to the special opt-out functions available below. Please note the different options for protecting your privacy in each browser. For example, you can allow first-party cookies but block third-party cookies, or you can be notified each time a website wants to install a cookie. Please note that disabling cookies in this way means that new cookies cannot be set. However, it does not prevent previously set cookies from continuing to function on your device until you have deleted all cookies in your browser settings. Instructions for managing cookies on your browser can usually be found in the browser's help function or in the operating instructions for your smartphone.

What data are collected and how are they used?

This data is collected and passed on to us:

  • Tracking data (information about the referring site, location data, your behaviour on our websites) and we also measure the length of time you spend on our websites.
  • Browser type and version used, as well as the operating system used
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address)
  • Time of server request
  • Search terms when using a web browser

In addition, personal data such as your name, address, etc. will be collected if you provide this information voluntarily, e.g. when registering, using the contact form or requesting information.

How does web tracking work?

In order to tailor our website to your interests and needs, as well as for market research purposes, we evaluate data generated during your visit to our website. You can delete cookies at any time via your browser settings.

Retargeting

Our websites use so-called retargeting technologies. We use these technologies to make our website more interesting for you. This technology enables us to target Internet users who have already shown interest in our site with advertising on our partners' websites (e.g. Google, Facebook, etc.).

How does carbon-connect AG collect data and how long is it stored?

Personal data provided to us via our website is only stored until the purpose for which it was entrusted to us has been fulfilled. If you no longer agree to the storage of your personal data or if it has become incorrect, we will arrange for your data to be deleted or blocked or make the necessary corrections (insofar as this is possible under applicable law) upon receiving a corresponding instruction. Upon request, you will receive information about all personal data we have stored about you. Please contact us by email at info@carbon-connect.ch.

How is data stored, protected and evaluated?

The information collected on this website is forwarded to the relevant unit within carbon-connect AG when you enter it. The confidentiality of the data is maintained. The data will not be passed on to third parties unless this is necessary, for example, to complete a project (e.g. dispatch of brochures by a third-party provider, payment processing). Personal data will only be used for the purpose specified on the relevant page of our website where the data was collected from you. Pages on which we collect personal data are usually encrypted using the encryption module built into your browser. A firewall system prevents external access.

Data protection information on social plugins

Our website uses social network plugins (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Bluesky).

Each time you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, the plugin causes your browser to load and display the visual representation of the plugin from the social network's server. This informs the social network server which specific page of our website you are currently visiting and transmits other data such as your IP address.

We have no influence on the amount of data that the social network collects using this plugin. Information on data protection and notices can be found on the respective social networks:

Facebook Pixel

Our website uses the visitor action pixel from Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook") to measure conversions.

This allows the behaviour of page visitors to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. This allows the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimised.

The use of Facebook pixels is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in effective advertising measures, including social media.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable usage-based advertising from Facebook on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: https://www.youronlinechoices.com/.
